SEASONAL
Your Fall 2026 Apartment Search With a Criminal Record
Plan your fall move around your deadline and your total costs. We check each community's screening criteria against your record. Read the terms of any special, and don’t assume it changes who qualifies.
Build your search around the date you need to move and the money you have for the whole move. A fall special can change the price. It doesn’t mean a property’s criminal history policy got any looser.
Work backward from the move date
Figure out how much time you need for tours, applications, utilities and any approval you need from your supervising officer. Ask each office how long processing really takes and which days it’s closed. Don’t assume every office slows down for the holidays, and don’t count on a set reply time.
Read the fine print on a special
- Which unit and lease length qualify?
- Is it a monthly discount or a credit you get later?
- What do you still owe at move-in?
- What happens to the special if the lease ends early?
Compare the full written offer. “One month free” doesn’t tell you how much you need on move-in day. Screening is a separate question, and that's the part we check for you.
Get ready before you pay to apply
We look at each community's current criteria, find the rule that covers your record and see if it offers individual review. Check your documents with the record check guide. A court search won’t show exactly what every screening company will report.
Pick your next step
Use the move-in budget and checklist, then request free locating help if you need apartment options. Communities set their own offers and approval rules. We can’t promise the season changes either one.
